This is a lovely movie which shows a love story that has to survive to too many complications. During the 40's, Allie is a rich girl that falls in love with a poor country boy named Noah. Her parents are against their love, but together this couple will do everything to live their love.

Facing the prejudice from her parents, World War II going on, seven years go by. Their lives having gone through different paths, and her new rich boyfriend, are just some of the problems they go through.
Then, when the action happens in the present, Duke is an old man who uses to read, to an old woman with the Alzheimer disease, a notebook containing the story of Noah and Allie.

Basically, the movie is a fusion of present and past, and it has the power to involve all kinds of people. It is based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks.

Critical Review
This is a good movie for those who like romance.
Due to the non-linear narrative, the beginning of the movie doesn't seem to make sense, but as time passes, everything starts to fit in.

The movie is set on beautiful landscapes, with wonderful scenarios, the soundtrack is pretty good, too, making people really get into the mood. And since the theme of love is universal, stories like this one always please its audience, and the story of a young couple is always welcome.

"The Notebook" also has an excellent cast that is responsible for raising the quality of the production. So, watching it really makes us think that behind any great love there is always a great story.
